In a solar system far, far away, there was a woman who lived in a cottage on the edge of a large dark forest. Priscilla looked up at the stars one day, thinking about the the aliens that recently attacked her planet. They killed many people because they had been looking for a planet to colonize for the vast resources and they didn't care if there was any "others" on the planet. They just wanted what they wanted and did not care how that would effect those that had made that planet their home.
So Priscilla packed up her belongings, put them all in a spaceship that she had parked in her garage, and took off, hoping to find a planet that she could live peacefully on. Fortunately she had a hyperdrive and knew of a nearby wormhole and before she knew it she was in another galaxy and was in the middle of another war.
Priscilla, torn by the familiar but still hopeful, set her hyperdrive to automatic and got into her human freezer cryogenic capsule and stayed there for a thousand years...........
When she woke up she realized that the ship had stopped and she was in another galaxy many hundreds of light years from the previous one and she was alone.
Sound like a situation you have gotten yourself into recently? Maybe not to that extent, but the alone part may feel familiar. Wait a minute here, I am transitioning from a story and trying to make a point and I am taking the fun out of it, so let me continue with the story, for your enjoyment, before I use it to make my point more clear.
Priscilla looked onto the view screen that made up her long range scanner and saw something on the edge of it. It was a blip. She repowered up her ship, looking at the fuel gauge which showed a 3/4 full tank and chased after the blip.
As she got closer she noticed a ship larger than her own. It was long with two fins from just past what looked like the cockpit to the rear of the ship. It had these long doors on the top that were open and a long mechanical arm with a satellite on the end of it. Then she realized how primitive a place this ship was orbiting which was a planet that looked habitable with very little war situations on it's surface. So she turned on her cloaking device and came in for a landing. Since her ship was invisible she was able to land on what she thought was a docking port at first but instead found that it was the top of a large reddish suspension bridge over a bay.
Oh My Gosh! Priscilla thought, these people are still using cars and bridges. What an ancient and paranoid culture this must be. She set the ship down in a nearby park.
This planet, Priscilla knew, would be her new home. Priscilla found a cab and took it till she found what appeared to be a church with double steeples. She got out of the car, went into the church, sat down in a pew, picked up a Bible and started reading it. A new religion for her, she thought.
Just then a small white creature started barking at her and man with a black and white collar scooped it up, and apologized for the creatures behavior. Priscilla only smiled and realized she had found a place where people apologized for behavior and tried to instill in people the wonders of a religion based on trust, respect, and a love for others. She had truly found a home.
Judges 17:7-13 One day a young priest from the town of Bethlehem, in Judah, arrived in that area of Ephraim, looking for a good place to live. He happened to stop at Micah's house as he was traveling through. 9 "Where are you from?" Micah asked him. And he replied, "I am a priest from Bethlehem, in Judah, and I am looking for a place to live." 10 "Well, stay here with me," Micah said, "and you can be my priest. I will give you one hundred dollars a year plus a new suit and your board and room." The young man agreed to this and became as one of Micah's sons. 12 So Micah consecrated him as his personal priest. 13 "I know the Lord will really bless me now," Micah exclaimed, "because now I have a genuine priest working for me!" Now there is probably not a person who has had an experience quite like Priscilla's. But what if you were meeting people that worshipped Jesus Christ for the first time and did not know how to pray, did not, at first believe in God, but were changed in a loving way with a basic understanding that no matter how bad the universe may be, there are still people that love one another and are willing to share that love with others.
So when you really think about it, Priscilla is like a baby Christian. She was alone, did not know if she would ever find a planet of people that would accept her, but yet here she was, on a planet where apologies were accepted and people generally got along. There are of course the occasional war and the selfish people that cause others harm in one form or another, but this planet, which Priscilla later found was called Earth, was gracious to others and friendships did not come at a price other than to share life's woes as well as the happy times. This was the opposite of what Priscilla lived with on her own planet where wars were plentiful because people just did not care and it was every person for themselves.
Now sometimes this may be the way it is on Earth. But this is for only those that decide to look at this planet as a bad place. Earth is not bad, it is a good place to live and love is always in the air, no matter what the form. So whenever you feel lonely, pray to God and ask Him for guidance and the love that He freely gives to those that ask for it. So when you really think about it, Earth is a fantastic place where people can live in harmony if they choose to. A place where loneliness can turn to happiness with some effort and love.
Prayer: Dear Lord, Thank you for all your many blessings and especially for the planet Earth and all the possibilities that we can share with others. Help us in the lonely times to realize how much you love us. Thank you Lord for your love and understanding. Amen.
Benediction: Now, Lord, Bless us in our daily lives. Help us to smell the roses whenever possible, to shine our light on those less fortunate than us, and lead us in the path we should go. For you are the light that keeps our path well lit. Help us to follow it, until we meet you, in a land where milk and honey abound, a place where our most wonderful dreams are fulfilled. Amen.
Hi, my name is Bryan, a messenger of hope who would love to hear from you. God Bless.
