I have got a song in my soul right now. I've got a song in my soul right now. I have a song in my soul, it is going fill quite a hole, that has made my heart take its toll. I have a song to be sung and I am just feeling it roll right out, right out of my soul.
Well maybe I am not a musician, but then when you have that feeling in your heart, you just have to roll with it. You have to feel it strong as it gives you a new energy. That is what life should be about.
But then you get back to reality. You know the reality that life gives you like a frying pan upside the head? But then that is rather negative, so let's get back to the song.
Shouldn't life be like a song in your heart? What would it be like if it was? Would we be getting as depressed as we sometimes get? Would we spend as much time as we do hearing and seeing the strife the world has to offer on the nightly news.
Probably not because we would be singing of Gods praises. We would be thanking Him for His help and His guidance. Because if we get caught in the doldrums and start to forget what is important, we are like a leaf that falls from the tree, only to dry up and be stepped on.
So what do you do when you get up in the morning and you look in the mirror. Do you see someone that has many challenges or do you see someone boring and lifeless? If you do see the latter, then you need to do something about it.
We can just stand there in front of the mirror and wish things would be better. But the only way we can make things better is to try. Easier said then done when you are waking up on a Monday morning, it is snowing outside and you know the commute to work is going to be a really big pain.
So what do you do when this happens? You sink deep within yourself and find somebody that needs to get out. That person inside of us needs nourishment. And I don't mean the food kind, but the staving off of the hunger that is created by the doldrums. The doldrums are the hum-drum place we have an easy time getting to, but a hard time leaving. But if we don't leave that place, we will just dry up like the old leaf that fell off the tree.
Job 13:25 Will You frighten a leaf driven to and fro? And will You pursue dry stubble? NKJV
Erase the doldrums. Refuse to let them be a part of your life. Don't give them the pleasure of your attention. Instead seek other ways to entertain yourselves that not only help you out, but give something to others when they need it.
One of the reasons I write sermons is because I want to share my feelings with others. I want to share the love that God gives to all. I want to let people know that there is hope.
I always thought, throughout my life, that my ultimate goal was to save another person's life. I have felt that doing something like that would give my life meaning. If I can save one person from doing something they shouldn't to themselves, because they feel like there life is bereft of hope, and give that person a reason to go on with their life, then I will have accomplished that. If I could give even one person the hope and the strengthening of faith then I will have accomplished a great work.
Because what would be the good if I only lived my life to please myself? What good would that do? What would I truly accomplish by being self-centered all the time? Nothing, I would be like a dry leaf to be stepped on.
Don't wallow in self-importance. Don't strut your stuff as you are the big cheese. Instead realize that the only big cheese is God. God is the really big cheese. He can give you so much.
Psalms 108:10 Who but God can give me strength to conquer these fortified cities? Who else can lead me into Edom? TLB
So God can give you strength. He can give you hope. He can bless you many ways. He can put a song in your heart right now. He can fill the hole that may be there. He can fill your soul with His love and give you peace.
Prayer: Dear Lord, put a song in my heart right now. Help give me hope and understanding. When times get tough, be with me Lord, and also in the good times. Guide me this week to seek you often. I thank you for all your many blessings. Amen.
Benediction: Now, Lord, Bless us in our daily lives. Help us to smell the roses whenever possible, to shine our light on those less fortunate than us, and lead us in the path we should go. For you are the light that keeps our path well lit. Help us to follow it, until we meet you, in a land where milk and honey abound, a place where our most wonderful dreams are fulfilled. Amen.
Hi, my name is Bryan, a messenger of hope who would love to hear from you. God Bless.
