Hey, guess what? It's MOTHERS DAY! But you are probably well aware of that. And if you are not then your mother-in-law will probably make you well aware of it, especially if you forget it. So break out the flowers, get some champagne, and maybe a box of chocolates and make your way over to your mother's house.
If you do not have a mother, don't let that bother you, then you can say a special prayer for her.
It is interesting when today comes. People are either cheery or they go bah humbug, like they might on Christmas. But in order for this to be a happy one, you need to think about your mother. Remember the happy times and the times when she gave you something special that cheered you up or made you feel fuzzy inside, like a fireplace that warms the soul as well as the heart.
We live every day trying to get ahead, not realizing that we already have one. All kidding aside, let's think about how we can make today one of those days where we are thankful to be alive and that we have our health, such as it is, and that we have the love that a woman had in order to bring us into this world. And no matter how much you may dislike your mother for whatever you think she may have done wrong to you just realize that she did the best that she could and just decide to love her anyway.
Colossians 3:20 You children must always obey your fathers and mothers, for that pleases the Lord. TLB
But what about those that never knew their mother. Or people whose mother abandoned them, what about people like that. To those people just say that you are thankful to your mother that she gave you life. Because no matter how bad your situation is realize that you are here, right now, living on this planet and you have a life that has the opportunity to spread love and be helpful to others and that all the love you can give can be given.
It is so easy to forget about the love of a mother sometimes. It is easy to forget this because of the hectic nature of life. But you got to. You need to look beyond your own problems and look to your mother and think of the love she gave you no matter how much or how little it was and thank God that you are alive and being a pest and causing other people problems.
But seriously, think about today with the blessing of love in mind.
1 Timothy 5:2 Treat the older women as mothers, and the girls as your sisters, thinking only pure thoughts about them. TLB
So, don't forget your mother today. Make sure she is in your thoughts and in your prayers.
Prayer: Dear Lord, that you for my mother. Thank you for the life that she gave me. Help her to follow you and help me to realize that she is important to me no matter where I am in my relationship with her. Give me the insight to know what you want for me in my life and help the mothers of this world to be happy and blessed. Help me in this coming week to be the kind or person you want me to be. And thank you for my mother and all the other blessings you have given me. Amen.
Benediction: Now, Lord, Bless us in our daily lives. Help us to smell the roses whenever possible, to shine our light on those less fortunate than us, and lead us in the path we should go. For you are the light that keeps our path well lit. Help us to follow it, until we meet you, in a land where milk and honey abound, a place where our most wonderful dreams are fulfilled. Amen.
Hi, my name is Bryan, a messenger of hope who would love to hear from you. God Bless.
