Often times in life we look back at past mistakes that we made and wonder if we will make them again. It is inevitable that they will be made again, no matter how much we may think otherwise. It isn't because we are stupid or that we may have forgotten to pick up a brain when God was passing them out, but because we are human.
The human condition is not defined by how many mistakes we have made, it is whether we learn from them. We come out of them a better person. We may make the same mistake again, but at that time we will learn something different than what we learned the first time.
That is truly beautiful think about life. We can't figure it out, because there isn't a dictionary or an encyclopedia around to define it. It just is. God made us that way.
Did He make us to make mistakes? Not necessarily, but He did make us to make up our own minds and make decisions. He also gave us the responsibility to tend to ourselves and do the best with what God gave us, no matter how imperfect we are.
But we can make ourselves better. Not just from learning from our mistakes, but also by following the words that Jesus taught us in His parables and the wonderful words of the Bible.
Now a lot of people try to disprove the Bible. There is the skeptic that reads the words and forgets to read between the lines and sees nothing but contradictions. A critic of the words does not realize that the words were written by people just like us that are prone to make mistakes. That is not to say that the Bible is full of mistakes, it only means sometimes the words may not appear right.
But that may only be because we are seeing it through mistake-prone eyes.
You cannot mistake the fact that the Bible is the number one bestseller of all time. If the Book were full of mistakes it would have been thrown out a millennium ago, never to be seen again. But yet it has tested the sands of time, and it is still the most treasured piece of publication known to mankind.
You have to appreciate the idea. You have to read between the lines as so many billions have done throughout the ages. You have to decide to make a commitment to the words and to thank God for such a blessing.
We can choose to believe, or we can get caught up in the rat race of life always choosing to make more money so we can be famous or have what we want or to have something that most others don't. But where will you be when you have it? If you had a billion dollars right now would that make you any better a person than you are now. I think not. I am sure that God, according to what I have read in the Bible, would not think any less of a person who has little money. All men and women are created equal in his sight.
We live in a world where people are seen as wimps or heroes depending on your perspective. We are created equal and to the dust we will be.
But God gave us gifts. He gave us the ideals and let us be believing in what we want. I choose to follow the Lord. I choose to see Him as a man in the form of Jesus who died on the cross for my sins and the sins of my fellow men and women.
Giving of yourself is important in life. Letting people know you care is also of importance. I do not believe that God put us on this earth to be selfish, but to serve Him and to help others.
We may not know how to do this or even know what God wants for our lives. But in order to find out all one needs to do is pray and ask God for His guidance which He gives so freely. You may not recognize His answers right off, but as time goes on and you pray and study the Bible you will get to know about your true nature and what God has in store for you every day that you follow Him.
Don't let another day go by without letting God into your life. He is there for you now. Go to Him and He will start to reward you in many ways that will probably surprise you from day to day.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for the privilege of living on this planet. Guide me in the coming week to seek your guidance often. Help me to realize my true nature and give me the insight to know why it was that you put me here on this planet. I thank you for all your many blessings. Amen.
Benediction: Now, Lord, Bless us in our daily lives. Help us to smell the roses whenever possible, to shine our light on those less fortunate than us, and lead us in the path we should go. For you are the light that keeps our path well lit. Help us to follow it, until we meet you, in a land where milk and honey abound, a place where our most wonderful dreams are fulfilled. Amen.
Hi, my name is Bryan, a messenger of hope who would love to hear from you. God Bless.
